Oh Bum!!!

I just went to get my results from my GP to take to my clinic appointment next Thursday.....

HbA1c = 11.3

Oh bum!!!

I knew it would be something like that but its still a bummer when you get it back on the official bit of paper. The last one in April was 10.5. I am now worse than I was before I went on the pump 3 years ago. I need to give myself a serious talking to.

Hi Dee,
Don't beat yourself up! Just relax & talk to your doctor. I know that's easier said than done. BTW, do you feel comfortable with your doctor? One of my diabetic friends is very uncomfortable talking to her doctor about her lab results. I've tried for a long time to get her to go to mine - who is so laid back & easy to talk to. I've found it's real important to feel comfortable talking to your doctor even when things aren't as great as you think they should be.

Anyway, I hope you can easily talk to your doctor about your results & together you can work things out. It'll be okay; try not to worry. I'll keep you in my prayers.

It CAN turn around... :)

In September 2005 my A1C was 12.4 (after months/years of not ever bothering to check my blood sugar). It took some work and effort, but it gradually came down again... my last A1C (a month ago) was 6.6.
